Competitiveness and Prosperity

In today’s global economy, the competitiveness of nations and industries plays an integral role. Competitiveness fosters innovation and in turn creates a more prosperous future.

Competitiveness lies in the intersection of culture, policy, geography and talent and the performance of nations relies heavily on the foresight of policy makers navigating these structural path dependencies.

With this idea in mind, the GFCC brings together organizations with the common mission to accelerate competitiveness through collaboration, allowing members to learn from each other’s experiences and exchanging best practices.

Innovation and Technology

New advancements in technology will revolutionize our modern economies – and in many cases they already have. Innovations from genetic engineering to artificial intelligence, from space missions to medicine, from nano-technology to smart manufacturing will drastically change the way in which nations, cities, industries and businesses compete. A newly available data abundance illuminates new paths into the future that were unknown yesterday.

Capturing these innovations and drawing from the cumulative expertise of its members, the GFCC strives to enhance competitive strategies in this new era of illumination and find concrete policy and business recommendations in order to navigate the transition.

Sustainable Business Models

A prosperous future will increasingly depend on the use of natural resources, the production of energy and, more broadly, sustainable growth in order to promote equality and economic sustainability. The success of sustainability efforts will depend on global partnerships and a mutual commitment to these causes.

But how will nations compete sustainably? What are the new sustainable business models that are needed in order to maintain and promote peace and prosperity around the globe?

In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), the GFCC and its members strive to influence the policy debate on sustainable business models and highlight some of the frontrunners that can be found amongst its members.
