San Diego Study Trip
July 21-23, 2026
Innovation at the Cutting Edge
In July 2026, our team traveled to San Diego for a study trip exploring how research translates into real-world innovation, hosted in partnership with UC San Diego.
The program included a fireside chat with UC San Diego Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla and sessions on building world-class innovation ecosystems, bridging academia and industry, and scaling talent for the digital economy.
We also toured UC San Diego's Office of Innovation and Commercialization, where research is turned into market-ready ventures. Our exploration continued with site visits to some of San Diego's leading research and technology institutions, including the Qualcomm Institute, Illumina, and the DIII-D National Fusion Facility.
The trip offered a compelling look at how San Diego became a global hub for deep tech, biotech, and the digital economy, leaving us inspired by the region's innovation ecosystem and its lessons for driving research-to-impact around the world.
