The GFCC and its sister organization, the Council on Competitiveness (CoC), will lead an Innovation Arena during COP 28 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on December 6. The GFCC is pleased to welcome Dr. Cláudio Vilar Furtado as a Distinguished Fellow. Dr. Furtado has prestigious corporate experience in business and finance and served the Brazilian government as the President of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) between 2019 and 2023. He is also an influential business professor, specialized in investments, corporate finance, corporate governance, business economics, private equity and venture capital.

The GFCC has added two new researchers to our Driving Innovation in Times of Crisis (DITC) initiative. This partnership with Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) began in 2022 and entered a new phase in 2023, with a renewed focus on identifying opportunities to drive innovation during times of crisis and increase shared prosperity while limiting socio-economic losses.
