Leaders around the world are grappling with a critical challenge: how to enhance the productivity of natural resources while protecting the environment. These resources are essential to economic sustainability and play a pivotal role in powering the transition to new economic models—yet finding effective, responsible strategies remains a struggle.
A new GFCC paper, developed in partnership with member Harper Adams University—a specialized institution at the forefront of teaching and research in technology innovation, food production, animal sciences, and agriculture—offers concrete answers.
“Conflicts over natural resources are set to intensify in the years ahead. Climate change, geopolitics and social polarization are combining to fuel tensions over resources. In this context, there is an urgent need to develop win-win solutions. This GFCC report sets out an important roadmap for progress in this area,” says Daniel Litvin, CEO and Founder of Resource Resolutions.
The publication presents seven key strategies, each supported by practical, actionable recommendations to guide investments that increase resource productivity while promoting sustainable use:
Community Engagement
Responsible Innovation
Technology-Driven Efficiency
Transparent Monitoring and Stakeholder Engagement
Equitable Benefit Sharing
Sustainable Green Technology Transfer
Regeneration Economy
It also highlights innovative technologies, proven tools, and inspiring case studies to help leaders take action
