Mohd Yusoff Sulaiman joins the GFCC as Distinguished Fellow

The GFCC is pleased to announce that Dr. Mohd Yusoff Sulaiman has joined our esteemed group of Distinguished Fellows. Dr. Sulaiman was the president and CEO of the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) for over 15 years, a time during which he worked tirelessly to build a robust 21st-century technology and innovation-based economic engine for Malaysia. He led the development of multiple cross-sector partnerships, international collaborations and new industrial development strategies to support business infrastructure and technology development in the country.

"Dr. Sulaiman is a well-recognized leader and an active member of the GFCC community. He brings a wealth of expertise in various technology areas and vast experience in technology policy and management to our organization. He has helped to build multiple partnerships between industry, government, and universities focused on advancing innovation in Malaysia and facilitated the country's transition to a high-tech economy. His expertise will be a great asset for our community of leaders", says GFCC President Deborah L. Wince-Smith.

 

Dr. Sulaiman was bestowed the Global Competitiveness Award at the 2023 Global Innovation Summit in London for his visionary work trajectory and contribution to MIGHT and Malaysia. Under his leadership, MIGHT engaged both local and international companies of all sizes, universities and research institutions, NGOs, government ministries and agencies in the quest for competitiveness.

Dr. Sulaiman is currently the President of the Malaysia Rail Industry Corporation (MARIC) and Chairman of UPM Innovations at Universiti Putra Malaysia. He also serves as the Governing Board member of UNESCO's Isfahan's Regional Centre for Technology Incubators and Science Parks Development (IRIS) and as an Advisory Board member for the ASEAN Innovation Business Platform (AIBP). He is also a Mentor for the Women's Leadership Foundation, which selects and mentors potential leaders from both corporate and public organizations.
