By Deborah Wince-Smith — Powerful emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, sensors, robotics and additive manufacturing are creating a tectonic shift in the way we compete, work, produce and consume goods. No industry or country will be unaffected. More than ever before, the world needs creative and committed leaders to help seize the opportunities and meet the challenges of shaping a future of sustainable production and consumption, and a world of work that does not leave workers behind in a tidal wave of change.
In this age of technological disruption and global transformation, men and women all over the world have stepped forward to help lead their countries, communities and citizens to more sustainable competitiveness and greater economic opportunity. Emerging from business, government, academia and other sectors, these thought leaders, energetic doers and agents of change have demonstrated an unflagging commitment and tireless dedication to shaping a better, more sustainable future. These roles models also serve to inspire the next generation of men and women who will lead their countries, businesses and societies on uncharted pathways into a future in which disruption and change are the new normal.
That’s why the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils is proud to announce the 2017 Global Competitiveness Award. We are looking for game-changing visionaries and leaders of impact in the world of competitiveness, and you can help. Nominate a global leader here: http://www.thegfcc.org/award
The Global Competitiveness Award recognizes trailblazers and groundbreakers who have brought together coalitions of people, leveraged new tools and models, championed new legislation or government policies, or ignited other activities to help strengthen their country’s competitiveness. They transform the way business is done, the way government works with business, and the way sectors come together to promote sustainability, innovation, growth and prosperity for all of their citizens.
The Award will be presented and the recipient honored at the Global Innovation Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 29, 2017. The Summit is the GFCC’s flagship event, drawing high-level leaders from business, government, academia, civil society and think tanks from all over the world for exciting discussions on cutting edge issues in global competitiveness and innovation.

Help us spread the word in our search for excellence in global competitiveness. Please nominate a leader for the Global Competitiveness Award at www.thegfcc.com/award, by September 22, and be sure to join us at the Global Innovation Summit in Malaysia next November.
